BIO

“Ricky.” is a self taught Visual Artist, Designer, and Army Veteran from the south side of Chicago. Her journey in clothing and design began in 2013 while she was still serving in the military. During this time she would create her own distressed and patched denim wearing her own designs when she wasn’t in uniform. After leaving the military, her career as a Visual Artist started a few short years after in 2016. In 2017, before announcing anything to the world, she founded and created “SorryImLate.”, an urban genderless clothing brand catering to men, women, and non-binary individuals. Her clothing fuses together authenticity, unapologetic ideologies, love and streetwear. SorryImLate. LLC launched officially in 2019. Her clothing reflects her deep love for abstract art, black excellence, 90s fashion, and the cut and sew culture.

Artistically, Ricky. aims to bend the narrative and genre of abstract art allowing her experiences and inspirations to fuel her creations on canvas with no boundaries. Her deeply layered abstract backgrounds and touch of surrealism gives her audience a closer look into her mind and the way she views the world around her.

Ricky. has exhibited in over 100 art shows and events collectively in New York City and Chicago, IL. Her artistry continues to evolve with her own personal growth and connection to the world around her.
